Motivation

Recently, we posted an article on the neuroscience of quitting and I shared how I have been experimenting with the concepts to get and stay motivated in areas where I’m working on stretching myself – getting out and walking more, practicing piano, etc. I thought the video with Dr. Huberman was excellent, but if you haven’t yet had time to read the article and would prefer a very quick brain hack that works, you might be interested in the 5-Second Rule, brought to you by Mel Robbins, a charismatic speaker and life coach who cuts to the chase with a practical and powerful practice to get us past our personal obstacles and into making big changes.

Here is a short 11-minute interview with Mel that I found online. While this hack is based on the principles of neuroscience, it is completely applicable without having to learn or understand them. Try it – it works!
